Passive Voice

1.Simple Present Tense

  • Active : The guest enjoys the food
  • Passive : The food is enjoyed by the guest
  • Active : Ricky borrows my expensive laptop
  • Passive : My expensive laptop is borrowed by Ricky

2.Present Continuous Tense

  • Active : Some farmers are harvesting the crops
  • Passive : The crops are being harvested by the farmer
  • Active : My father is telling me a good story
  • Passive : A good story is being told by my father

3.Present Perfect Tense
  • Active : The fisherman has caught a huge fish
  • Passive : A huge fish has been caught by the fisherman
  • Active : Andi and Riska have finished the homework together
  • Passive : The homework has been finished by Andi and Riska together

4. Present Perfect Continuous Tense
  • Active : The students have been performing a show
  • Passove : A show has been being performed by the students
  • Active : Abrar has been studying the the terms carefully
  • Passive : The terms have been being studied by Abrar carefully

5. Simple Past Tense
  • Active : My sister ate pizza last night
  • Passive : Pizza was eaten by my sister last night
  • Active : Bandits stole the villager's food forcefully
  • Passive : The villager's food was stolen by the bandits forcefully

6. Past Continuous Tense
  • Active : The senior football players were training the juniors
  • Passive : The juniors were being trained by the senior football players
  • Active : She was writing something important
  • Passive : Something important was being written by her

7. Past Perfect Tense
  • Active : The police had arrested the criminals
  • Passive : The criminals had been arested by the police
  • Active : Nahel and Gema had read Al-Qur'an
  • Passive : Al -Qur'an had been read by Nahel and Gema

8. Past Perfect Continuous Tense
  • Active : Mr.Nordi had been cuting Fajar's hair
  • Passive : Fajar's hair had been being cut by Mr.Nordi
  • Active : Reza had been preparing the books carelessly
  • Passive : The books had been being prepared by Reza carelessly

9. Simple Future Tense
  • Active : I will throw the trash to the basket
  • Passive : The trash will be thrown to the basket by me
  • Active : Dicky will attend the meeting in the office
  • Passive : The meeting will be attended by Dicky in the office

10. Future Continuous Tense
  • Active : Yuma will shooting the ball strongly
  • Passive : The ball will be being shot by Yuma strongly
  • Active : Angga will be riding his old bike
  • Passive : The old bike will be being ridden by Angga

11. Future Perfect Tense
  • Active : The teachers will have taught the students intensively
  • Passive : The students will have been taught by the teachers intensively
  • Active : My parents will have told my sister not to play often
  • Passive : My sister will have been told by my parents not to play often

12. Future Perfect Continuous Tense
  • Active : The butchers will have been chopping the meats
  • Passive : The meats will have been being chopped by the butchers
  • Active : OVJ show will have been entartaining the audience
  • Passive : The audience will have been being entertained by OVJ show
